Configuring Mozilla Thunderbird
This article describes how to securely connect to Denetron's mail servers using Mozilla Thunderbird.
To configure Mozilla Thunderbird follow these steps:
- Launch Mozilla Thunderbird

- If you have not used Thunderbird before, you may be prompted with the Account Wizard. If so, please skip to step 5.
- From the Tools menu select Account Settings.
Note: Users of *nix systems can find the Account Settings option under the Edit menu. - Then click the Add Account button.

- When prompted with the Account Wizard, select Email Account and click Next.

- Fill in Your Name, Email Address and click Next.

- Select the server type IMAP, and provide the Incoming Server address mail.denetron.com. If prompted, provide the Outgoing Server address mail.denetron.com. Then click Next.

- Fill in the Incoming User Name with your Email Address and click Next.
Note: If you have an existing account configured in Thunderbird, the outgoing (SMTP) server listed may not be mail.denetron.com. We will correct this later.
- Change the Account Name if you like, then click Next.

- Verify the settings entered. If the Outgoing User Name and Outgoing Server Name (SMTP) do not match Your Email and mail.denetron.com, click Finish and continue with step 11. Otherwise, click Finish and continue with step 14.

- Select Outgoing Server (SMTP) from the left and click the Add button.

- Provide the Server Name of mail.denetron.com, verify the Use name and password box is checked, and the User Name is your Email Address. Then select SSL as the secure connection type, and click OK.

- You should see a new server listed similar to the one below.

- Select the account name you chose eariler from the left. Confirm that the selected Outgoing Server (SMTP) is mail.denetron.com.

- Under the account, select Server Settings. Select SSL as the secure connection type. Then click OK to complete the setup.

- You many now select the Inbox for the new account and click Get Mail.

- You will be prompted for for your account password. You may choose to save your password with the Password Manager. We DO NOT recommended savings passwords on public or shared computers.
